A New Camera and Starting Spring Baseball

The weather is finally warming up!

This spring our Crab has decided to play baseball again after trying out soccer for a few seasons and taking a few seasons off to do other fun things like art classes and the like. You can see in the background the sinkhole has been filled in, and we're slowly working on it through rainy and dry days to tamp it down and regrow the grass.

I recently picked up a new Canon R5 camera body to utilize my old EOS lenses again. It works well with the adapter that converts EOS to R lenses.

While I love my cell phone's camera, I definitely am tired of seeing my nicer equipment collect dust. The great thing is that I can shoot with the DSLR and then easily transfer over the photos to my phone to keep them all in one place before backing them up on my computer.

It's been about 5 years since I've truly picked up my DSLR to shoot anything really. My previous Canon 70D camera body is about 10 years old, and the autofocus system is going on it. I fought with it for podcast promotional photos last summer, but after that I gave it to Monkey to play with since he's interested in photography and loves to tinker with old tech.

So far, I am enjoying the R5 and looking for more to shoot; just a lot of new settings to get used to on a mirrorless camera vs. mirrored--and customizing it all to my liking again.

Here's a quick image when I was testing out manual settings my the R5. (SOOC)

Monkey has been getting in on the action to play a little ball outside with his little brother.
